THE COURT REPORTING ACADEMY AWARDS OVER $110,000 IN SCHOLARSHIPS WITHIN THREE MONTHS OF LAUNCHING PROGRAM

Summary: The Court Reporting Academy has achieved an unprecedented milestone in awarding 80 scholarships, valued at more than $110,000, to qualified candidates who are preparing to become court reporting professionals.

Cocoa, FL – September 27, 2022 – In June 2022, The Court Reporting Academy, Inc., a leader in preparing individuals for careers in the court reporting industry, announced a record-setting $500,000 scholarship program to accelerate the growth in qualified professionals. Since launching, more than $110,000 in scholarships have been awarded to over 80 students. To date, 20 recipients have completed the Academy’s digital reporting program and are now gainfully employed in the field. The majority have also successfully earned their AAERT certification credentials.

In addition to changing lives, the $500,000 scholarship program is helping to strengthen the entire legal industry by filling a critical shortage in skilled court reporters, legal transcribers and scopists, which directly improves the ability of attorneys and courts to provide timely services. Scholarship recipients are matched with sponsoring agencies across the country who provide mentoring and internship opportunities to facilitate faster and lasting employment.

“Without the scholarship program, I would not have been able to start my training, and I probably still wouldn’t be in school,” said recipient Karen Foreman, who has transitioned from a high-stress career in management to freelance court reporting. “This opportunity has given me a new sense of freedom, allowing me to take control of my life and do what I have been wanting to do for so long.”

Full and partial scholarships are available to qualified individuals pursuing careers in digital and stenographic court reporting as well as traditional and digital scoping careers. Academy applicants can qualify for up to $1,500 in credits to cover the costs of digital reporting courses or up to $2,400 in credits for stenographic and scoping courses.

Reporting agencies and legal technology solutions providers, including VoiceScript, have united to fund the scholarship program to prepare the next generation of tech-savvy court reporting professionals. Sponsorship opportunities are available now to agencies of all sizes. Prospective candidates are encouraged to apply for a scholarship on the Academy’s website at www.TheCourtReportingAcademy.com.
